Topic: Motion- Chapter 9

Homework: Motion Unit Review- Due Fri, Dec 16th

Lab:  Rollercoaster’s Acceleration Lab Report (see requirements below)- Due Thurs, Dec 15th

Test:  Acceleration Test- Fri, Dec 16th

Rollercoaster Acceleration Lab Report Requirements: (Total 45 points)

Purpose: 1 point

Find the acceleration of an object as it travels through your rollercoaster.

Introduction: 10 points

Explain distance, speed, displacement, velocity, and acceleration, and there relationships                  with one another.  Use your own words to explain these in paragraph form.

Hypothesis: 3 points

If an object is accelerating in a rollercoaster, then _____________.

Your hypothesis should include a definite way to measure the acceleration.

Materials: 2 points

Make a list of all the materials you used for this lab.

Procedure: 8 points

Make a step-by-step guide for how to do your experiment.  Be sure to include how you                      are taking the data.

Data: 11 points

Table: 3 points

It should include all your data from the lab.

Calculations: 8 points

In clear format, show the steps you used to demonstrate what the data means.                                   Show all your work to solve these math problems.

Graph: 5 points

Make a distance vs. time graph to show the motion of the graph.

Conclusion: 5 points

Based on your data (be specific about which data), tell whether your hypothesis was falsified or verified.  How does this answer your question?  If there were any possible sources of error, list them here and describe how they may have impacted the result of the experiment.
